The Caliber 40 is a lovely cruising vessel built of fiberglass with teak accents. She is a cutter rig with an anodized aluminum spar stepped on the keel. Bow sprit with a raked stem and reverse transom. She features a skeg-mounted rudder controlled by a wheel and a fixed extended keel. Solitude has been very well maintained and is nicely equipped for cruising.

The Caliber 40 has a lovely cruising interior. The Master Stateroom is forward with a large private head in the forepeak with a separate shower stall. The stateroom has a large Pullman style double berth to port with shelves outboard. To starboard one will find lovely cabinetry with lockers and shelves for an abundance of storage. The Main salon has as settee to starboard with open and closed shelves outboard. To port is the L-shaped dinette with open and closed shelves outboard. there is a large bulkhead mounted table that can accomodate seating on both side of the salon. when the table is in place for dining it reveals shelves and liquor storage on the forward bulkhead. She has a wondergul L-shaped galley aft of the dinette. Tucked aft of the galley is the navigation station and electric panel. Aft of the settee to starboard is the 2nd head which can be accessed via the salon or the private aft cabin. The private aft cabin is to starboard of the companionway and has a large hanging locker and double quarter berth. She has 6'2" headroom and plenty of ventilation via 7 opening hatches, 10 stainless steel opening ports, 2-12V fans, 2-110V fans and a solar exhaust fan in the forward head. Her interior is lovely with medium blue cushions, teak cabinetry and teak and holly sole throughout for a bright yet warm interior.

Her galley is well equipped and nicely laid out for cruising. There is plenty of counter and cabinet space for food preparation and storage.
