Vessel Overview
The Standard Island Hopper 29 is a wide beam vessel that provides the performance, stability, and ride sought by boaters everywhere. The Island Hopper 29 offers a 12-foot beam for unmatched stability and comfort while trolling or at anchor. She planes out quickly, providing fast speed and economical operating costs. Hull design has a deep-V entry forward changing to a flat three-degree deadrise aft. Double-wide chines and a self-bailing deck are also strong points. Beam at widest point is 12 feet. Hull construction is of hand-laminated glass, woven roving of eight to 18 laminations resulting in a one- to two-inch layer in the bottom of the hull. All critical points such as chines, bow, and keel are strengthened with extra layers of glass, and the bottom is stiffened with four longitudinal stringers. Two 60-gallon fuel tanks provide long range cruising. Economical diesel engines are standard.
