TIARA is the undisputed leader of Volvo IPS propulsion! In fact the first IPS hull was the 40' predecessor to the 39 Sovran. Tiara delivered an unfinished 40' to Volvo for custom fitting and installation of the first IPS system to be installed in a pleasure yacht.
The following year after this collaboration with Volvo, Tiara introduced the 39' Sovran and it was one of the bright spots during the boating depression of 07-13!
IPS not only out performs conventional drive systems they are QUIETER and up to 20% more fuel efficient! Plus because of the small package they can be placed in the boat to allow much greater interior flexibility.
Tiara designers were quick to take advantage of the extra space in the 3900 Sovran by creating an expansive single stateroom interior with a cavernous step down "theatre" room area aft of the salon complete with a wall mounted TV and facing leather settees that convert electrically to a large double berth.
The master stateroom is forward with curved sliding pocket privacy doors. 19' TV and generous island berth. Berth is hinged for large storage area under. Hanging lockers and storage plus screened ports & overhead hatch provide ventilation & light!
The fully equipped galley is on the port side of the beautifully appointed salon. A large head with separate stall shower and lavatory with storage.
On deck the TIARA Sovran's fiberglass hardtop is integral to the wide wrap around windshield and keeps the forward area sun free unless the overhead hatches are opened. Two AC/Heat units provide complete climate control.
The one step lower cockpit area features a wrap around lounge with removable table.
IPS 500's with 370 hp provide 28 knot cruise, (that's 32.2 mph!) with a WOT of Mid-30's!
