‘Snowaway’ was custom built for its original owner by Caliber Yachts Inc. in Clearwater Florida, and incorporates all the latest design experience of this quality blue water sailboat builder. The current and 2nd owner has enjoyed these benefits since 2016.
What sets Caliber apart from the fleet of her rivals? Is it her swiftness? Her seaworthiness and durability? Her exceptional stability and comfort? As Caliber owners know, it is the artful combination of these qualities, which enables a Caliber to perform beyond the limits that constrain so many others.
This 2009 Caliber 40LRC SE "Snowaway" meets all those expectations. The 40LRC SE has standard features like Water Tight Collision Bulkhead, Water-Tight Rudder Dam, Triple Support Rudder System, and much more.
‘Snowaway’ is located in the “Gateway to the Sea of Cortez” and would greatly benefit that sailor looking for an ocean capable vessel ready to go. This is a great starting point to explore the Sea of Cortez, mainland Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean or the South Pacific.
The Caliber 40LRC SE "Snowaway" has been sailing in the Sea of Cortez. She has been put away every summer. This Caliber 40LRC SE is definitely worth an inspection.

Caliber's trademark* design incorporates a Multi-Bulkhead Bonding System*, an Integral Strength-Grid System* for strength and safety, integral baffled tanks act as double bottoms while adding tremendous rigidity to the hull structure, with additional strength from the integral sub-sole. Additionally, there is a Water-Tight Collision Bulkhead*.
Hulls are built for outstanding resistance to collisions, with extra layers of solid fiberglass at potential impact points. In case of damage to the bow or rudder, a Watertight Collision Bulkhead and Rudder Dam are designed to minimize flooding.
When rough water makes most sailors miserable, a Caliber owner can cruise in comfort. And with confidence. The Caliber moves more steadily in heavy seas. And due to her high ballast-to-displacement ratio, the Caliber is very stable.
A swim ladder and boarding platform built into the transom make it easy to board a dinghy or take a swim. The platform has its own hand-held shower.
‘Snowaway’ radar, autopilot, and engine control lever are arranged on the wheel steering binnacle. Depth and speed combo instrument are conveniently mounted at the steering pedestal. Radar mounted on aft starboard transom.
‘Snowaway’ ’s Caliber Smart Stern Rail has two seats, an outboard lift crane, outboard bracket mount, bimini support system with solar panels installed. In addition ‘Snowaway’ has Calibers Safety Sea Rails for bow and stern and 2nd owner replaced the lifelines with SS rails around the entire boat.

She has been customized by the current and original owners. ‘Snowaway’ has plenty of lighting, reading and overhead lights, 7 cooling fans, and AC electrical outlets. She is finished throughout in teak with solid capping. She is also naturally well-lit and well ventilated through the numerous port lights and hatches. There is a beautiful teak and holly floor throughout, with multiple handrails though out the interior.

The main salon is well illuminated and richly furnished in teak. It takes full advantage of the headroom and a wide beam. The result is a "living room" that's perfect for entertaining guests. Two settees offer ample seating and one of them even converts into a double berth (for a total of 7 berths). Both settees have storage under and behind, and teak cabinets over. The twin-leaf dining table folds up against the bulkhead for additional space.
The aft stateroom has a double berth with a storage cabinet beneath, and a large cedar lined hanging wardrobe. There is a separate entry door from the stateroom to the aft head, giving more privacy to your guests.
The aft head is located conveniently to the cockpit. It's entrances from the aft cabin, and the salon make it accessible from either area without disturbing the other occupants. The both heads are completely outfitted with pressurized hot/cold water and shower.
