ACCOMMODATIONS
What makes the Bali 4.3 Y Knot so unique is the main deck layout. She has a huge entertainment platform that opens to the outside through a “garage door,” off the aft section of the main Salon deck. This elaborate drop-down via a button transom and lifting overhead door that converts the deck layout from a compartmentalized cockpit with a door and windows that open in closed mode to opening up the main saloon into “Loft Mode”, which entails a wide-open indoor/outdoor patio and porch with a galley all the way forward.
Take a few steps up from port or starboard to a huge flybridge on the upper deck. All the sailing controls are well-positioned at the helm along with a comfortable helm seat, another sunbathing lounge, and flush-mounted solar panels.
The apartment theme, which Catana calls “Loft Mode,” continues on the main deck, where there’s an unusual division of the galley space, with the cooktop and sink forward, and the household size Samsung double-door fridge freezer. A full-size microwave is located to starboard and aft. counter space abounds in both areas. For entertaining, in particular, the layout makes sense, as the serious cooking is separated from where you prepare drinks.
The forward end of the saloon is all windows. The large central pane hydraulically lowers into the bulkhead, opening the entertainment space between the galley and forward seating area.
These huge expanses of glass provide excellent visibility.
