This Custom built, varnished hull is a masterpiece. It is a 1983 Custom Built IOR design Nelson Marek 36 "Tinder Box" The mast is a custom triple spreader rig built by Forespar. The boat was built by a very skilled craftsman in Laguna Canyon/Orange County.
The hull is cold molded mahogony wood with polyester resin. The engine is a Universal 5424 24 horsepower diesel.
There is a full inventory of racing sails..
This boat was raced in the Lipton Cup in 1984.

Tinderbox is a custom built, varnished wood (cold molded) IOR 1 tonner that is a work of art. She also has a workable and roomy interior, adequate for my 6'2 220 pound body. It is very usable for cruising with her 2 burner propane stove with oven, 3 cylinder diesel, fresh and tasteful interior cushions and varnished interior. It reminds me of some of the fine older boats in my 1960's youth in Santa Barbara and I'm proud to be her owner.
