Recent Upgrades

2020:

September: New Nanni N4.50 engine and ZF 15M transmission installed. This is the second new engine installed by Robert Kleid due to incorrect installation of first engine in 2017 by incompetent mechanic. A cooling water vent loop was not installed on the first engine raw water system and after 23.5 hours of operation the engine waterlocked. Also, the diesel return hose was not connected to first engine and allowed fuel to go into the bilge. The first engine control panel was used for the second engine, thus the Hour Meter read 23.5 hours when installed.

September: Boat prepared for shipping at Hinkley Yacht Services, Stamford CT and transported to Bowleys Marina, Middle River, MD. Jungle Gym (cockpit Arch) that included 4 worn out solar panels, inoperable wind generator, and broken radar antenna removed from over cockpit by Hinkley before shipping and disposed of.

September: Replaced Jabsco Twist-n-Lock head pump assembly.

September: Most hose clamps are replaced on entire boat

October: Stern Hatch cover rebuilt to include fiberglass work and replacement of all teak to include new black caulking

October: Removed water tank inspection covers and cleaned interior of both water tanks

October: Replaced 12 volt starting battery with one 105 AH Duracell Group 31 AGM battery.

November: Replaced fresh water system pump

November: Had four ¼ inch thick stainless-steel discs made to cover deck holes from removed jungle gym over cockpit.

November: Replaced Kisae Abso 2000-watt model 12055 battery charger / inverter with new one that came with the boat but was not installed. Inverter did not work on original charger / inverter. Moved remote control panel to left side of Galley

2021:

February: Replaced six worn out 6-volt golf cart house batteries with two 12-volt 105 AH Duracell Group 31 AGM batteries

March: Replaced Datamarine instruments with Raymarine i70s multifunction display at Navigation station, which includes an iTc-5 and new Wind and Depth / Speed / Temperature transducers. Replaced Helm Datamarine instruments with Raymarine i60 Wind display and i50 Speed, Depth, Log / Temperature Tri-data display data linked to i70s via a SeaTalkNG network.

July: Replaced Shower faucet with Kingston KS1811PLBS control, Delta Elbow, Nameeks Remer Shower Hose, and wall mount

July: Rebuilt Fynspray hand pump at Galley, but difficult to pump.

2022:

February: Added new Kato Bay II davits and Puffin 760 dinghy

February: Bought 1972 British Seagull Feather Light motor for dinghy.

February: Made teak door for port / forward salon storage cabinet that was removed by previous owner to install a TV / VCR combo.

March: Made Brazilian Cherry floor for Dinghy

March: Made Sunbrella dinghy and Seagull motor covers

March: Replaced Sanitation thru-hull fitting, Street elbow, Seacock, and Y-Valve. Replaced 40 feet of 1 ½ inch sanitation hose and 21 feet of associated 5/8 sanitation vent hose and thru-hull vent fitting. Reconfigured sanitation system to eliminate direct overboard from head, thus eliminating one of two Y-valves, which also eliminated head to holding tank vent loop. Now all sanitation goes directly to the holding tank and holding tank is emptied via deck pump out or overboard via new Jabsco 50890-1000 electric sanitation pump with new Groco vent loop. Y-valve located under the starboard side of V-Berth.

March: Cleaned / Polished and Reconfigured 4 brass interior reading lights to 12VDC LEDs. Previously 12VDC was converted to 120 VAC in base to power florescent bulbs.

April: Sanded bottom and applied two coat of Micron CSC black bottom paint.

April: Repainted waterline strip Jade Green and added ½ inch Kelly Green stripe between Jade Green and black bottom paint.

April: Replaced Weems and Plath Time / Tide clock (2022)

June: Sanded and applied Sikkens Cetol to all exterior teak except cockpit seats and floor.

June: Striped and refinished upper interior teak between ports with Howard’s cherry Restor-A-Finish

July: Replaced aluminum end pieces on forward water tank gauge sighting glass

July: Added Bilge alarm system

July: Replaced all three Force 10 stove cooktop burners and ignitor box. Ignition box still does not work, must be a wiring issue.

August: Added 12VDC socket at lower left side of helm for spot light

August: Most 110 VAC circuit breaker panel indicator lights replaced with LED panel lights

September: Converted 3 square interior overhead lights to 12 VDC Red and White LEDs. Previously 12 VDC converted to 110 VAC in base for florescent bulbs

November: New V-Berth Mattress without ¼ round entry mattress section.

November: Used old mattress to make ¼ round removable V-berth entry section that was part of solid previous mattress. Do not use, but keep stored on boat.

November: Used old mattress to make a cushion for below V-berth seat / entry cushion that was missing when we bought the boat.

2023:

March: Replaced ¾ inch engine raw water thru-hull fitting, street elbow, seacock, and hose with 1 ¼ inch scoop style thru-hull strainer, street elbows, seacock, 1 ¼ to 1 inch nipple and 1 inch hose to raw water strainer under galley sink. Nanni installation guide specifies 1 ¼ inch hose, but 1 ¼ hose will not fit under galley floor. Never had a cooling problem in the relatively cool Chesapeake Bay with ¾ inch hose, but this should provide less strain on the engine raw water pump and provide better engine cooling. Old ¾ inch hose had a thru-hull fitting with only a ½ inch diameter opening.

March: Replaced Head Sink drain.

May: Replaced plastic primary bilge pump strainer with new bronze ARG-1000-S Groco strainer. Over kill but it is easier to empty and seal.

June: New SparCraft staysail boom added to include 70-foot of 3/8 clue line and 70-foot of 7/16 sheet line. Previous owner discarded original boom and I like the self-tacking feature of a boom.

July: Made new Forest Green Sunbrella Mainsail Cover.

September: Made Tresco Linen colored Sunbrella Cockpit cushions

2024:

January: Replaced 200 feet of 5/8 inch Bruce anchor rode rope

March: Sanded bottom and applied two coats of black Micron CSC bottom paint

April: New cartridge in Shower faucet, Previous cartridge was leaking. Leak could have been from Loose cap

2025:

March: Replaced old frozen spud style propeller shaft Stuffing Box with new Buck Algonquin model 00PB125 spud style box. Installation required cutting off propeller shaft coupling and replaced with new Buck Algonquin model 50400B1250 split coupling.
