Description
Summer is quickly approaching, and here is a powerboat in VERY good condition for its age available to a new owner/enthusiast for a very nice price!
This is a 1998 model Powerquest 340 VYPER, which is a high quality high speed boat with an unusually spacious interior. The hull is slim, sleek and has an advanced bottom design with double ventilated side steps, "notched transom" balance step blow the transom and a V-shaped "pad" at the bottom of the hull much like the hulls from Fountain, Donzi and Nor-Tech. Also special about this boat is the current engine package, which is two big block engines from Mercury Racing. Both which in recent years have undergone extensive modification and renovation. The engines have increased displacement to approx. 550 cubic inches (9.0 litres), and is fitted with fuel injection from Motec, which is "top of the line" in programmable injection systems. MSD ignition is included, and this is professionally installed in the boat in a waterproof box. Both engines have been run on a dynamometer and calibrated here in Norway by specialists and tuned for the use of 95-octane European petrol for a correct amount of petrol, ignition advance etc. This ensures a perfectly calibrated engine that starts perfectly and uses "little" petrol compared to several "tunes" which can be obtained from America with a different type of fuel. The dashboard is also worth mentioning as it has a digital Motec screen with "analog" display that is easy to read at high speed. Error messages also appear here, etc. Double Gaffrig control levers and tiltable hydraulic steering pump make it possible to get ready for driving in all conditions and throttling like in a real racing boat. The two bolster seats are high and rigid with an electric "drop down" seat cushion and stainless steel frames. The dashboard is large with great visibility and has several built-in features such as glove compartment and illuminated cup holders etc.
Technically, the boat is tip top with, among other things, one brand new complete Bravo XR drive, and one drive with a new XR upper part and new internals in a used lower unit. There is also a real power steering with dual stainless external steering ram cylinders for optimum control at high speeds and fingertip control when docking. This must NOT be confused with "servo-assisted cable steering" which is installed in boats. The boat has been driven less than 100 hours since all the work on the engines was done and here you get a very reliable and powerful package with naturally aspirated engines which are considerably more economical to operate than supercharged engines. In addition, they are easier to troubleshoot and work on with significantly less components and hoses which can clog or crack etc. The exhaust manifolds are from Stainless Marine and here you won't have the usual problems with stainless 4-1 "headers" that leak in welding joints. In addition, the polished stainless steel tail pipes give a great visual impression when you lift the electric engine hatch. And the sound of them... Yes, it's music with two V8s running synchronized! The boat has also received a significant upgrade on the interior side, with an excellent interior inside the cockpit with large original seats at the front and an original full bench at the back with room for four people. Double diamond stitching, the logo in each seat and seams that are perfectly straight. This looks very good and this is done with a precision that actually exceeds American boat interiors from when this boat was new. Inside the cabin, you'll find a large U-shaped sofa upholstered in a black comfortable "alcantara-like" fabric. Considerably more practical and cozy than the white vinyl covers that you find in most powerboats. The cabin has a V-berth bed up front, and a console with a sink and a large compressor cooler for food and drinks with minimal power draw. The electric head/toilet is in a separate room with almost full standing height. The cabin seats 5-6 adults comfortably and a large portable cooler is also included, also compressor-driven. The boat is therefore absolutely ideal for a small family or just your friends get together for a trip!
The price is set very favorably for a quick sale. This boat has eventually had an out-of-pocket cost of around two million kroner, and is owned and rigged by a real enthusiast with extensive experience with large custom engines. The top speed is approx. 70 knots depending on weight, weather and driving conditions. The boat is ready for display in Viken county. Viewing with pick-up at Gardermoen airport goes well with a couple of days' notice. We are also helpful with transport to the whole of Norway or for export and export out of Norway.
The boat has also been cleared through customs in the EU previously, so you can also sell this boat for export without EU VAT having to be paid again. Cigarette, Fountain, Eliminator, Technohull, Formula, Bernico and some Riva, Hydrolift and Goldfish boats. With operations in Sweden and in Saint-Tropez for Sportmer, I therefore have a relatively unique network for marketing and selling these boats and their engines. Therefore, I want serious inquiries, preferably by phone, as there is a LOT of travelling. We can also provide all types of speedboats and engines at favorable prices after 20 years of experience in this segment of the boat market.
