Description
Launched as Kingfisher, this very smart IMOCA 60 designed by Owen Clarke Design was constructed by Marten Marine in New Zealand. She was commissioned by Offshore Challenges for Ellen MacArthur for the 2000/1 Vendee Globe where she achieved an amazing second place. Ellen went on to get a 1st with Kingfisher in 2002 Route de Rhum. Additionally campaigned by Mark Turner & Nick Moloney, Kingfisher achieved 3rd in the Transat Jacques Vabre 2001.
As ‘One Planet One Ocean’ this trusty IMOCA 60 continues to place well in Round the World Races. She had a complete refit in preparation for the Vendée 2020/1 and now Owen Clarke Performance Yacht Brokerage are proud to bring her to market.
Her construction is made up of an Epoxy Carbon Nomex and Airex core sandwich hull, superstructure and deck which are all painted in Grey/Blue. She features a canting keel, two centreboards and two rudders. Her sail area upwind is 260m2 and downwind 570m.
