Description
RIO 100 is now available with a long term lease
RIO was originally built in 2003 as LAHANA.
In 2014, she was purchased by her previous owner and completely rebuilt by Cookson Boats in New Zealand from the chain plates aft, with a new hull, new rudders, and new lifting keel.
Also her interior was all redone, with new bunks, new electronics, new galley, and new engine.
One can say she is a new boat from 2014 onwards.
Her race record includes a 1st over the line in the Yates cup in 2014, a 4th over the line in the 2014 Sydney to Hobart race, a first over the line in the 2015 Cabo race, a Barn Door trophy in the 2015 Transpac race, and a first over the line in the 2016 PV race and course record, a first over the line and course record in the 2016 Pacific Cup and another Barn Door Trophy in the 2017 Transpac race and the new Merlin trophy in the 2019 transpac.
Simple layout to race, lifting keel to go in shallow harbors, very good and mostly new Doyle sails, RIO 100 is a turn key race boat with unlimited horizons.
Multiple Barn door wins in the transpac, (2015, 2017 and 2023) and multiple first to finish trophies all up and down the West coast
Several new sails were ordered and purchased in 2023 as well as her composite standing rigging has all been recertified in 2022!
******WINNER BARN DOOR TRANSPAC 2023 FOR THE THIRD TIME !!!*****
**** ALSO WINNER OF THE MERLIN TROPHY FOR THE 2ND TIME ******
Call to be sent her full package.
