Description
An impressive and full restoration by a team of highly skilled and meticulous wooden boat builders has resulted in a gleaming classic that is now in structurally excellent condition and the envy all who sail with her. This exquisite Dragon has a very successful racing record, having won local and national races (including Cowes week) when owned and helmed by Eric Williams during the 1990s and early 2000s. Then based in the Solent, she was always found in the front of the local fleet which numbered some 30 Dragons. “Dragonfly” was built in 1969 by Børresens Bådebyggeri, Vjile, Denmark, build number K453 and launched as “Menace”. Dragonfly still needs her rigging and internal running systems ‘fitting out’ which can be tailored to individual specifications and therefore at the buyers expense. Estimated complete fit out cost approx. £5,000 or can be customised to upgrade to any level of enhanced system as specified by the purchaser. Advice from some of the top Dragon racers is available on request for works to be planned and executed accordingly.
